Oceans Aquarium Research & Science Center is a non-profit tax exempt organization dedicated to promoting interactive educational exhibits and programs relating to ocean science and energy technology.

The OARSC project for Rhode Island will primarily serve all of Rhode Island and nearby Connecticut and Massachusetts residents. This proposed new state of the art family entertainment facility will help improve educational opportunities for the Ocean State. The OARS Center will promote STEM Science, Technology, Engineering and Math programs and Rhode Island core curriculums utilizing a variety of interactive hands on exhibits.

The OARSC project for Rhode Island is a two phase project that will support education and expand tourism in Rhode Island while creating about 300 new job opportunities for our Ocean State residents.

Families, visitors and students will appreciate and enjoy experiencing four unique areas combined into one facility, The Ocean State’s OARS Center.

The economic impact of the OARSC project for Rhode Island will create additional revenue from tourism, new jobs, new businesses opportunities and additional tax revenue for our Ocean State.

Phase 1 of the project is to open a unique OARS Center. This unique, one of a kind, OARS Center will focus on four distinct themes for all ages.

Phase 2 of the project is to build a world class “Colossus” exhibit featuring a one of a kind 2 million gallon figure 8 style aquarium tank.
